Should I get a summer job in order to keep myself occupied?

Hi, I just graduated high school and I'm kind of bored. A lot of free time and I don't have much to do. I was thinking of getting a job, not really for the money, but to give myself something to do over the summer until I start college in fall. Is this a good idea for alleviating my boredom?
